(Note: I humbly ask for your forgiveness and I deeply apologize as I accidentally said “apart from cursing a few sick people” when I SHOULD have said, “apart from curing a few sick people.” Big word difference, yikes!)

Hellloooo, how are you all doing today? I hope fabulous. I hope that you started your day with God and had faith that He is going to do whatever He needs to do for you today. Because I rely on that daily and it is the only way that you’re going to get his graces—if you truly believe in all of His greatness and that He is our God and our Savior—which leads me to the Gospel. It’s a short one!

Gospel Mark 6:1-6

Jesus departed from there and came to his native place, accompanied by his disciples.
When the sabbath came he began to teach in the synagogue,
and many who heard him were astonished.
They said, “Where did this man get all this?
What kind of wisdom has been given him?
What mighty deeds are wrought by his hands!
Is he not the carpenter, the son of Mary,
and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon?
And are not his sisters here with us?”
And they took offense at him.
Jesus said to them,
“A prophet is not without honor except in his native place
and among his own kin and in his own house.”
So he was not able to perform any mighty deed there,
apart from curing a few sick people by laying his hands on them.
He was amazed at their lack of faith.

Simple and to the point. You will not receive God’s amazing graces, miracles, guidance, love, peace, joy, affection, compassion—you’re not going to achieve or receive those if you don’t have faith in Him. If you don’t have faith in Him as the Resurrected Lord, the one who came to save our souls. If you don’t have faith, you won’t receive the benefits. Bottom line, that’s it.

It’s a continuation of last week. Please ask the Lord to give you more faith, to trust that the situation that you are in right now is where He wants you to be. Perhaps you have an illness or a horrible boss or a really bad job or you just feel like you’re not really filling your purpose on this earth—you don’t have much meaning and you’re just going through the motions. Perhaps your children are sick or you’re battling some sort of addiction. Everybody is dealing with a cross. Everybody is dealing with some sort of an issue in their life.

And God wants you to come to HIM and ask Him to help you, to guide you, to lead you, to love you, to forgive you. Maybe you’re carrying mortal sins on your soul. He wants you to go to confession. He wants you to come back to Mass—even if you’re not really into it—GO. What is the worst that can happen? You can enrich your life through faith and prayer and make everything better, have a more rewarding personal life and a professionally successful life on the business side. What’s the worst that can happen by going to God and asking Him to give you more faith?

Miracles have happened and can happen—and trust that there is a plan for you and it may not be yours. Especially if you’re in a situation where you’re just miserable. Just know that God has you there for a reason and ask Him, “Lord, please help me figure out what you want me to do. Obviously, everything I’ve tried hasn’t quite worked out for me, so I’m looking to you.” Remember, He’s the one who created you. He gave you these unique talents that are all yours. Why not ask the guy who has the recipe for your life?

I mean you may be thinking, speaking of a recipe, you might be thinking you’re supposed to be a casserole for dinner and He actually wants you to be a sundae—a nice fruity sundae with whipped cream, nuts and a cherry. Uh, I don’t know why I went there with that, but I just went with it. You could have a completely different idea of what you think your life is supposed to be when He built you for this. Why not ask Him and have faith that He will lead you and guide you. Because if you don’t have faith, it’s for not. It’s all in vain. Everything you do is not going to be for the glory of God. So let’s ask him again for more faith because none of the riches and the graces that He can bestow on you will happen without it.

Let me know how things go this week. Let me know if you see God at work, let me know if you’re asking Him to help you live your life and give you more faith. Alrighty. As always, have a blessed and inspired week. I’ll catch you next time. Take care.
